Temple Times is a weekly-ish countercultural newsletter published by n0madz that focuses on Paper Buddha’s Temple community, technology in web 3.0, and whatever the hell “culture” is.
🌌Happy Greetings, Fellow Space Travelers🛸
Held together with twine, twigs, and Elmer’s glue, this week’s issue is delivered raw, uncut, and barely finished. I’d apologize, but IDGAF, so read on with caution, dear reader, knowing that space-bears and cosmic mushrooms lurk in these here parts.
Continuing to expand our social reach, I’d like to welcome a few new subscribers to the experiment that is this platform, newsletter, series of ramblings, and interconnected hidden meanings that is N0 MAD NEWS and TEMPLE TIMES. We’re just getting started, and I appreciate you more than you know. 🧩
If you haven’t subscribed, please do so, and I’ll comp you access to all the content. If you have subscribed and enjoyed reading, please like, share, and interact whichever way you’re most comfortable - no pressure!
I am leaving this here from last time because, despite my best intentions, I assume it’ll be the case again: “I tried to keep it short and sweet → I failed. It is what it is 🤷♂️” Changing it up a bit and playing it fast ‘n loose. Proceed with caution.
Cosmically sound of mind with feet in the clouds and a head full of coconuts, I hope that wherever you are, the water is warm, the weather fine, and the coffee/tea is just how you like it. 🌊🥥🌴
Cheers
n0madz
⚠Proceed with caution⚠
📰 General news
The saga of the coloring book has finally come full circle as Spazecraft has not only subscribed to Temple Times, but he now knows that I’m the n0madz that collected his coloring book off eBay, bridging IRL and the blockchain one collect at a time.
In other Spazecraft-related news entirely unrelated to coloring books, I’ve been introduced to his project HOOP NEBULA 76, which gives back 50% of sales proceeds to #NFTmentorsNYC, a youth arts project by SpazeCraft & frenz. They are also donating basketballs and digital art supplies to South Bronx youth, and if you collect 3 Hoop Nebula NFT’s they host an NFT workshop for 5 Bronx youth! Check out the project if you’re interested!
Hoop Nebula 76 is an NFT Art/Photo collection that celebrates the interconnectedness of basketball, art, and community.
MendezMendez’s latest drop in the Vanitas collection, “You Crushed My Soul,” closes later today. Mint price of 0.07 ETH and 70 minted out of 77 total editions. (FYI: If you hold either this piece or any other artwork from the Vanitas collection, you can mint future drops at a reduced price before they go public; just saying…). Mint here.
ChemicalMessiah (aka TheDirtGod) celebrates another trip around the sun with his birthday drop, “Another Year Closer to Death.” The 72-hour open edition had a mint price of 0.0037 ETH and closed with 136 editions minted.
In other dirt-related news, I’m relatively new to collecting ChemicalMessiah, and he’s already getting big props from me for laying out what to expect from him as a potential collector (monthly open edition, burn to redeem soon after, and a nice website laying out the fine deets).
In other open edition news, Snoop Dogg releases his first open edition music NFT “XYZ” on the platform Sound.xyz. Minting for 0.0042 ETH, there are currently 7988 editions minted. Snoop had teased collectors with the possibility of winning one of his vintage cars if the open edition reached 42,000 mints - it doesn’t look like it’s happening this time, Snoop.
MVD airdrops 🔥 artwork Lightform Deity to holders of his OE Color Wave.
Paper Buddha’s Temple Telegram has experienced a refresh, and the work-in-progress channel has been lit AF lately. Here are some of the WIPs that stood out to this n0madz (featuring sneak peeks provided by bertism0, MVD, and LaserLew)
Half celestial being, half scrumptious fungi Kush, or MetaMushrooms, invites you on a bus TRIP of a lifetime (virtual, of course!). Involving digital bus tickets, IRL merch, and other shenanigans, MetaMushrooms is behind the wheel, and we’re just along for the ride.
Season 2 of ClownVamp’s whodunit CYOA series Detective Jack kicked off this past weekend with Donny’s Donuts. Featuring burn mechanics and disincentivizing secondary sales until after the game ends, ClownVamp has 270 willing participants signed up to see how the story ends.
🐇Random Rabbit Hole🎩
24/7 generative television is now a thing.
Nothing Forever, created by Mismatch Media and Watchmeforever, is a channel on Twitch that streams generative content in the style of the popular sitcom series “Seinfeld.” There are already 189K channel subscribers, and at the time of writing (way too late for this n0madz), there were almost 7,500 viewers.
